The short version: you rent a name under safe.gm for a year at a time. Use it honestly. If it's used for scams, phishing, malware or anything illegal, we take it down. If you don't renew, the name goes back to the pool after 30 days.
1. The service
safe.gm ("we", "us") lets you reserve a name such as yourname.safe.gm and point it at a simple page, another website, or your own server. You don't own the name. You get the right to use it while it's paid for and you follow these terms.
2. Your account
- Use a real email address you can access. We use it for password resets, receipts and renewal reminders.
- Keep your password safe. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
- You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
3. Names, payment and renewal
- A reserved name is held for 72 hours. If it isn't paid for in that time, it's released.
- Once we confirm payment, the name is live for one year. Prices are shown before you pay.
- We send a reminder before your name expires. If you don't renew, the name stops working on its expiry date and is released 30 days later.
- Payments aren't refunded once a name is live, except when we suspend a name by mistake.
- Some names can't be registered, including names that copy banks, payment services, telecoms, government bodies or well-known brands.
4. What you can't do
You may not use a safe.gm name, page, redirect, or anything it points to, for:
- Phishing, fake login pages, or pretending to be another person, business or organization
- Scams, fraud, fake shops or fake investment schemes
- Malware, viruses or anything that harms visitors' devices
- Spam, including sending bulk email from a safe.gm name
- Content that sexualizes minors, promotes violence or terrorism, or harasses people
- Anything illegal, or that infringes someone else's copyright or trademark
5. When we act
We review reports and may suspend or remove a name, without notice and without a refund, if we believe it breaks these terms or puts visitors at risk. If you think we made a mistake, contact us and we'll look again.
6. Other people's websites
When your name points to another website, that website is your responsibility. We don't control or check what it shows.
7. Availability
We work to keep safe.gm fast and online, but we can't promise it will never go down. We rely on providers such as Cloudflare, Netlify and Neon. The service is provided "as is".
8. Liability
As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect losses such as lost profits or lost data. Our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months.
9. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is important, we'll email you before it takes effect. Using safe.gm after that means you accept the new terms.
